The Rondo Land Bridge Project Advisory Group (RLBPAG) is about a community-driven engagement process and ongoing exchange with Neighborhood, Agency, and Private Sector Partners, through the formation of multiple committees and focus areas, led by Rondo residents:

– To foster the active participation and involvement of every willing community resident to “lean-in” and to pursue every community asset and desire, for innovative community-economic development without further or future displacement;

– To leverage the technical expertise and capacity of our agency partners, in ensuring that equity happens;

– To work through an equitable development framework that highlights the importance of community revitalization, community transformation, and community wealth-building, in light of the potential of the proposed Rondo Land Bridge Project.

ReConnectRondo, Inc will work within the current community framework of civic and social service organizations, to identify all the key stakeholders that can contribute to the ongoing community engagement and community design process associated with the Rondo Land Bridge Project.

According to ULI MN’s Ten Principles of Resilience, we’d like to apply them philosophically to the development of our committee structure for the Rondo Land Bridge Project Advisory Group (RLBPAG)

Feasibility Study Goals include:

  • Neighborhood Reconnection– Reconnect the neighborhood on both sides of I-94 in ways that serve as a catalyst for wider community-wide initiatives.
  • Affordable Housing – Provide mechanisms to minimize barriers, and provide financial incentives, to promote the production and preservation of a diverse, safe, healthy, and affordable housing stock.
  • Equitable Development – Create a framework for inclusive economic opportunity for the community.
  • Public Health/Green Space – Improve public health disparities by providing access to green space and outdoor opportunities.
  • Community Leadership –Strategize to keep this project a “community led” initiative and work closely with state, regional and city officials to implement regulatory and policy solutions, as appropriate, to maximize community involvement and to minimize involuntary displacements and moderate gentrification.
